Pursuing the Choice to Change

the dream is far from getting real
and started to lose its glory appeal
I am left with a dream in my mind
but the strength to realize it seems hard to find

my body is becoming more and more weak
my spirit is slowly getting used to the easy life’s trip
and wants to settle down and change direction
get some rest; enough of this freedom persuasion

the mind however insists on saying no
I have to walk until the end of the road
finish what I started and get what I want
have the choice to change any way I feel like
because now I don’t

Mistake

big mistakes, life, misery, mistakes, payback, poem, poetry

you knew it would come to this
you knew but you moved on anyway
you were saying goodbye to bliss
and you chose the wrong decision to take

Life is that way you know and whether good or bad
it is clear to you there’s no way of turning back
and all that remains is the good times you had
until it is time for your mistakes to pay back

Payback time and you have to suffer
as soon as you accept this the sooner you recover
the sooner you find the strength to confront them
the sooner you decide when payback is finally over

Unless you think there is still hope inside
hope to make things right and relieve yourself
from misery, depression that lead you to mental suiside
no matter how bad never allow that to yourself

And then you remember yourself going wrong
you thought it was wrong the moment you did it
but you fell for it again knowing it won’t take long
for you to regret about it and think you can fix it

Mistake that haunts you for life and even more
it’s right here to remind you of when you went wrong
so that you don’t do something stupid like before
but you had the chance once and the next one to come
might take long

we lied on the ground
we moved carelessly around
we tried to be happy with each other
with everything else we didn’t bother

you were smiling all the time
you were close to becoming mine
you said we had something to be proud of
you could see that I was happy because of

I had dreamt of this a while back
I forgot about time until it got dark
I never wanted to leave from there
I never stopped dreaming about us being there

we realised it was time to leave
we could hear by then each other breathe
we never thought about this before
we hoped that after this there would be more

In Pain

bad times, life, pain, poem, poetry, recover, recovering, unexpected

How does it feel to be in pain
and not being able to do something about it
when nothing happens when you just shout it
in the mind comes the thought everything’s in vain

how does it feel when it’s your own fault
that you are now in pain and you are hurt
cannot do something simple like cleaning the dirt
off the corners of this web in which you are caught

Clearing your mind this time won’t help
you can’t control this but you regret
the time you thought you could win this bet
this is something you cannot reset

Wait! That’s all you have to do now
for things to get better and pain to fade away
it doesn’t make much sense but it’s the only way
even if it doesn’t feel like it is now

Lust

bad, body, enjoyment, lust, mind, poem, poems, poetry, sad, self control, sin, vile

you realise you cannot control this at first
it’s just like an intuitive endless thirst
that drives you away from your moral self
it turns you into an animal with no self respect

you know very well that your body needs this
you know very well that your mind needs this
you feel bad but you don’t really want to control it
you just let go and get on with it

and then you feel better and then you are back
you feel it was worth it and you think you ‘re on track
you pretend it never happened but you know it did
you know you enjoyed it but you won’t anymore admit

up until a point when again you can’t control it
and you just want to let go and stop being solid
but you promised yourself last time would be the last
you can’t really escape from it you ‘d better give up fast

the sooner you realise the sooner you will know
that lust is a drug that will take you down low
but you like it, you enjoy it, even for a while
and you forget that actually you think it’s something vile

you are indecisive; you want it and you don’t
you can’t escape from it but you keep saying “I won’t”
and you each and every time fail
the enjoyment of lust will again prevail

it’s not your fault that you are so weak
it’s in your nature, you are not a freak
you recognize its purpose and that you need to fall
you can be an animal but you are human above all

Gratitude (Fire of Life)

feelings, gratitude, poem, spontaneous poetry, thank you

a word so powerful that it gives you the chills
and full of energy your heart at the same time fills
no matter what they say that this person has done
you realise that this is the person who helped you in the past
and the feeling is too strong for both of you to see
but not so powerful for everyone to feel

because their minds are tainted and full of fear or guilt
to understand gratitude you have to be able to feel
the energy of the people who want to see you go far
even though at first you don’t realise who they are
but when you do you can’t really control what’s going on
you just laugh or cry or say thank you… and so on

you are now reading a poem written for them
the people who ‘ve helped me and I ‘ll never forget
the people who never asked anything back in return
but somehow were able to keep the fire in me burn
the fire of helping others behind their back
and not ask for it back even when you are out of luck

a lot of those people you have never met and maybe never will
some others are around you but them you cannot even see
because your mind is tainted and full of fear or guilt
but you ‘ve opened your eyes now and are able to feel
the debt of gratitude you owe them and always will
which the only way to pay off is do what they did

Silence

maria, peace, peacefulness, poem, poetry, silence

affection of a special kind
because she’s a lot more than meets the eye
she’s the type that’s hard to find
she’s the type that makes me want to try

I like her because she is simple
and she has nothing to say to me
she makes me think how to live on
with my life but has nothing to offer me

most people don’t know her at all
have seen her but forgotten about her
waiting for someone else in their hands to fall
and those who remember can’t find her
anymore

some others cannot even see her beauty
they let her pass by without noticing
these are the ones that are stupid
they are the ones least promising

and yet she is not that different from others
I should thank her for being with me when I ‘m alone
if I was to give her a name that would be Maria
she’s not here anymore she ‘s once again gone

11.07.2011, anger, chaos, cyprus, memory, poem, poetry, tragedy

explosion, blood, pieces of human parts
you can feel it in the air
when a tragedy breaks into hearts

a simple but stupid yet huge mistake
made by people not admitting it
I ask: how can they be so fake?

innocent people gone to waste
by negligent people who didn’t care
pretending that they do but now it’s too late

Their blood is on your hands but who’s to blame
tell us Mr. President, you are all one and the same
no apology, not a word, no one to say “it’s my fault!”
just blaming each other having at all no shame

how can you look at them right in the eye?
you stupid hypocrites, you cowards
you are not convincing anymore with just a lie

you should take the blame right away
people trusted you, yet, you ‘ve delivered a chaos
and that’s more than enough to say

you innocent people, why did you stay there?
why did you let them take you, why didn’t you run?
and for someone else’s negligent mistake
you were broken apart

Their blood is on your hands but who’s to blame
tell us you chosen people, you are all one and the same
no apology, not a word, no one to say “it’s my fault!”
just blaming each other having at all no shame

Recycling The Myth

impossible, life, myth, people, poem, poetry

back from the island of no return
much like everything else a myth itself
that people refer to with some sort of fear
without ever wondering beyond what they hear

hearsay all that you believe
something for the unwilling really to relieve
themselves for not even trying moving on
for never questioning what is going on

it’s tough to prove to someone
what they believe and think is wrong
it’s tough when they don’t realize
that you are trying to help them move on

so they ‘ll probably question you instead
and you ‘ll have to prove it right in front of them
and even then you ‘ll hear them say you are cheating
or you ‘ll become a wonder depending on their thinking

but you are back from the island of no return
and you are happy for yourself not for them
nothing really has changed for them anyway
they just have a new myth for each other to say

The Challenge of M.

challenge, M., perception, poem

Waiting for something that you hope for
deep inside you know so but you don’t believe
because you cannot see beyond the obvious
beyond of what others had taught you to see
beyond of what others see

You think a proof will make you happy
a proof that will demand another proof
and then another and another
but that proof is hidden within the moments
that you don’t see what your eyes really see
but what the moment really is

The challenge is for you to see beyond
and not for me to prove you wrong
the challenge has nothing to do with me
I can help you find what you are looking for
I ‘m just a tool for the challenge to overcome
but that’s for you to judge
that’s for you to understand
that’s for you to decide
to use me or not

I admit you are right
things like these cannot be won in a lucky game
but you impose a challenge which is not a game
a challenge that requires fight

Come with me and I hope
you will be able to see
I really do
because if you cannot see
then I ‘m no different than everyone else
I ‘m no better than everyone else
I ‘m just someone passing by a moment in your life
I ‘m just someone

and I know I am not
