There was an awkward silence that day
“the calm before the storm” as they say
everything seemed to be unusually smooth
I should ‘ve known that was far from the truth

So it’s been thirteen years since that day
and I ‘ve never forgotten what we did say
we just need to start and adapt along the way
there is no time to be perfect to branch away

Today I had the feeling everyone was enstranged
the pain has been washed away yet nothing changed
a phone started ringing and broke the thin ice
and people seemed a bit off yet still being nice

Then in my mind I went back again to that day
and the memories rolled in right in the usual replay
the walk we had and everything we did say
the last walk, the plans, the strong will to play

I never thought that memory would turn gray
even so though the will remains strong to this day
and apart from not doing much towards the plan
a restart is pending for me alone to see if I can

P.S. There’s someone I would like you to meet
as last year was not possible to join us in the pit
I would not like it if we all met and felt enstranged
silly thought, I miss you, nothing and all has changed

…since that last walk that day!

I’ve been there once again
tried to recall all things said
only the path was the same
everything else has changed

I ‘ve been there but nobody knew
I was really trying to start anew
but the memory forced me in a state of bliss
next to my best friend who I dearly miss

Another walk down the memory lane
perhaps is what still keeps me sane
the memory of the last walk in my mind
remains deeper inside than any other kind

I ‘m forcing it all to come to surface
this day is all about going back to our base
the struggle may be obvious indeed
but remembering it all has become a need

It has nothing to do with the last walk
the plan, the action, the point of the talk
it’s been twelve years and I miss you friend
the plan still lives on, it will never end

Eleven years since then
not going to forget
friends now everywhere
calm as you were

Last walk back in my mind
it took a break for a while
felt like something missing
a busy day’s boring meeting

A very calm yet cold day
it ends with a concert yay
the plan of that day in the past
is still alive and it will last

The promise made long ago
still has a long way to go
a solid well thought idea
that has evolved year by year

I should go now and begin
what the last walk got us in
calm as you were back then
calm as you are now my friend

Last Walk: X

It’s heavy when you realise how much time has passed
things are not getting easier yet this is still a must
we are all part of this and eventually going to turn to dust
the memory deep inside the mind recalls that walk

It’s already a decade since then and it’s still strong
I ‘ve gone through a lot lately but it’s still in there
all the conversations, the plans, of course, the dare
come to think of it, that walk wasn’t after all that long

The music in my head today comes from back then
the immortality of music, the high hopes, the dream
the only thing compromised is indeed my self esteem
but a decade later I ‘m happy to remember that walk, the last walk: ten

The memory remains inside my mind
a heavy day for the soul to get by
now that the number has turned nine
I was late yet I managed to pass by

The walk we took that day in the afternoon
it will never fade at least not anytime soon
there is progress in what we talked through
however minor which makes me feel blue

With all the things piling up to be done
I wonder if I ‘ll manage or just give up
this doubt wasn’t there during the last walk
but the exact opposite: way up above and more

Worldwide crisis, caused by rapidly spreading human virus
I haven’t forgotten though, why am I feeling so righteous?

There’s a bee in the bush in front of me while at the place
in the midst of the ceremony I can’t follow at the priest’s pace

This day, eight years ago, I remember having our very last walk
cannot believe how fast time has passed, how life changed us all

That last walk that we felt so full with what we talked about
still can’t believe how things since then have turned around

And yet a song comes these days into my mind
still wondering though, is it wrong or right,

to publicly share it online?

Accepting that someone has gone away forever
takes years of inner grief and recovering from the shock
but you really have no other choice but just remember
the good times on which your mind automatically puts a lock

And once this lock applies you never forget
they just keep coming back at you at times
not necessarily a bad thing to happen so no regret
but it feels weird and sometimes brings cries

Come to think of it there’s no harm on me
that last walk has been for 6 years a motivation
and even though I haven’t done anything to show me
at least I remember our last day of pure inspiration

And now it’s starting to push me into new beginnings
but there’s no pressure or false persuasion of mind
perhaps if I push a bit will lead to a few winnings
this optimistic sense of hope, is what I need to find

The last walk remains deep inside as an aftershock
it may be frozen for now but it will come back up
I can feel it already starting to push away shellshock
point is I haven’t reached the point yet to give up

we ‘ve reached the number three
the memory of a walk still relies in me
of course, how can I forget

what we talked about is still there
ideas floating in my head but no care
of course, nothing started yet

we ’ve reached the number three
it’s not as fun as it used to be
of course, there’s no bet

the last walk was supposed to be a start
but the end of it would set us apart
of course, life, enough said
