a battle of egos, a battle for what?
showing off who’s better and who is not?
if history has taught us anything is that
our broken egos won’t take us far

a realising moment, a moment of truth
a try to conceive the right thing to do
free from your ego, free from your past
making sure yourself is the one to trust

you are back at the point where you re-think
you are back at the point where you re-build
yourself

sanitising your thoughts, a hard thing to do
you are probably not sure of how to get this through
as everything around you seem to be falling off
and the one thing that’s left is what you ‘ve been taught

but hope ‘s not yet gone; it’s not going to be here long
you have to back up a little in order to move on
and it is for the better, if you believe, there you will get
this is no obstacle for you just another bet

and you are back at the point where you are not sure
you are back at the point where you face the truth
about you
